MD-X8H
Surfing the Audio Web
Network Audio: Sharp presents the MiniDisc stereo system MD-X8H
for the new world of digital audio recording.
Hamburg, 29th August 1997. With Sharp's new stereo system MD-X8H, hi-fi fans can now make
full use of the new digital world and a multitude of digital sound
sources like Digital Satellite Radio, DAB, DAT, CD, MD, and even
the World Wide Web. The new compact stereo system records all
of these audio signals digitally onto a MiniDisc. Sharp's refined
MiniDisc technology ensures recordings of the highest quality:
The new MiniDisc system is equipped with the highest standard
of data compression on the market today, Sharp's ATRAC 5.0.
It is also the first stereo system with the ability to record
digital sound from the internet. A digital sound card (PCMCIA)
can be used to plug the stereo system into a computer with internet
access. This connection allows internet surfers to access and
record audio signals in digital quality onto the MiniDisc. They
will be able to use a keyboard to control the recording level,
select titles, or even insert accompanying notes on song titles
or performing artists.
The MD-X8H's numerous automatic functions make it easy to record
digital audio signals from all kinds of sources. CDs are recorded
onto a MiniDisc at the touch of a single button; both record up
to 74 minutes. The 3-disc CD changer allows the selection of personal
all-time favourites to be compiled onto a MiniDisc in digital
quality. The MD-X8H's Sharp Super Surround System guarantees sound
that is full and clear. Two 50 Watt bass reflex boxes present
all sounds in true live quality, whether light and crystal clear
or hard and heavy. The MD-X8H stereo system is available in stores
now for about 1,499.- DM.
